Interning at Church Street Bridal - BTS
I am Grace, a fashion design major at Liberty University and have such an incredible passion for the bridal and wedding industry. Naturally when I had heard about Church Street Bridal and their mission, I wanted to jump on board the first opportunity I had. After volunteering for about four months, I was blessed with an invitation to move into an internship position.
Now that I am an intern at Church Street Bridal, I have had the wonderful opportunity of undertaking new responsibilities and assignments to grow in my own skills as well as grow Church Street’s network. One of those assignments was organizing a styled photoshoot. With complete creative liberty I was able to choose the photographer, the florist, the destination, the date, hair, makeup, and most exciting, the dresses.
I hit the ground running doing model calls and finding those willing to volunteer their time and skills. I quickly began coordinating with Alyssa Smith, a local Lynchburg and entrepreneur photographer whom I volunteered alongside with at a previous styled photoshoot. Together we coordinated on the destination, timelines, and potential vendors. I chose to do the shoot at Thunder Ridge on the Blue Ridge Parkway. After over a month of planning, organizing ten volunteers, hauling wedding dresses everywhere, and planning for literally every worst-case scenario, the shoot was a success! And the result was one of the dreamiest and most stunning shoots I have ever seen.
It has been so exciting to finally see every detail and thoughtful idea come into fruition.
